Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened unsalted butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to wet ingredients.
  5. Scoop out 2-tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, flattening gently.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Press crushed freeze-dried strawberries and crumbled vanilla wafers onto the warm cookies.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth, adding pink food coloring if desired, then drizzle over cooled cookies.
