Ingredients

For the Sandwich
  • 4 slices Bacon Drain excess oil after cooking.
  • ½ medium Onion Sliced thin.
  • 2 slices Sandwich Bread Opt for whole grain for health benefits.
  • 1 small Tomato Sliced.
  • ¼ cup Arugula Peppery taste balances richness.
For the Chipotle Mayo
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise Greek yogurt is a lighter alternative.
  • ½ teaspoon Adobo Sauce Replace with sriracha for different heat.

Equipment

  • Medium Pan

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the Bacon: In a medium pan over medium heat, lay out your bacon strips. Cook for about 8–10 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Remove bacon, leaving some fat for flavor.
  2. Caramelize the Onions: In the same pan, add thinly sliced onions. Reduce heat to medium-low, cooking for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Prepare Chipotle Mayo: Mix mayonnaise and adobo sauce in a small bowl until well combined.
  4. Toast the Bread: Place sliced bread in the pan, toasting for about 1–2 minutes each side until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the Sandwich: Spread chipotle mayo on one side of each slice. Layer caramelized onions, bacon, tomato, and arugula on one slice, then top with the other slice.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Slice your sandwich in half for easier handling and serve immediately.
