Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt unsalted butter with a splash of olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Sauté diced yellow onion until soft and translucent (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; sauté until mushrooms are browned (about 8 minutes).
  5. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Mix in cream cheese, Parmesan, and Dijon mustard until creamy, then fold in Gruyère cheese.
  7. Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle and make 8 diagonal cuts on each side.
  8. Spread the mushroom mixture down the center; fold over the pastry strips to create a braid.
  9. Brush with beaten egg and transfer to the baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
  11. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and garnish with parsley.
