  • 1 teaspoon salt kosher salt preferred
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese optional for flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the well. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Deflate dough, divide into 12 portions, and shape each into a ball. Place in a greased muffin tin.
  8. Sprinkle tops with garlic, rosemary, and optional parmesan cheese. Press toppings gently into dough.
  9. Cover with a towel and let rise for 20-30 minutes until puffy.
  10. Bake muffins for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
