- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with buttermilk until all are combined.

- In a medium saucepan, brown the butter, then remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, maple syrup, and adjust consistency with milk.
- Pour the warm glaze over the cooled donut bars and let it set for about 15-20 minutes before slicing.
